You can use ustream for multiple reasons. I noticed a lot of user have posted hobbies or things in life they enjoy. For someone who is musical they can post a live song or dj session entertainment use. One day this channel can be a start to a big recording deal.
The website youtube is similar, but does have its pro's and con's. If you are doing a step by step installation or tutorial you are able to go back to the video. If you are missing a step then you have to ask or comment on the video. Unlike youtube you cannot go back to a certain point. For the person broadcasting the video it gives them full administrative privileges to ask questions live and create polls.
I just spoke with my cousin about helping him and some of my friends advertise the music they produce. I am currently using some of the things we have learned in class to help them advertise too. I am creating flyers to promote their single. Most people have to spend money with getting cd's and market the sells. As for with the flyer there is no major cost or any money needed to be giving to retail stores because it is no being sold. On the flyer the I am creating a QR code that plays their song right off their mobile device. On ustream we are going to meet up in a few weeks to see how we are going to make it work.
